An aesthetic and carefully considered antique ring made in the United States during the first half of the 20th century. This beautiful piece displays many characteristics of popular Art Deco design, including open filigree work and the decorative use of mixed gold hues. Here, the central oval shape cornflower sapphire measures 13 mm x 11 mm. Twisted in the light, it sparkles beautifully. The sapphire is synthetic meaning it is a real sapphire grown under laboratory conditions. Framed by a halo of 18ct gold wire strung seed pearls above and below and yellow gold embossed floral details. The ring face measures 18 mm x 16 mm. Dates to the late Art Deco era, c.1930s to 1940s.
