A beautiful and aesthetic antique 9ct gold ring set with a gorgeous oval shape garnet. The garnet is a rich and deep berry hue and measures 8 mm x 6 mm. Framed by a halo of black enamel detailing. This visually fascinating detailing continues along either shoulder, losses to the enamel are present. With a closed back setting. On a plain shank. The ring face measures 11 mm x 14 mm. A lovely and aesthetic example of early Victorian English jewellery. Dates to the mid 19th century, c.1860s.
