A classically rectangular shaped vintage case with catch fitting to the front. This delight is a dark mahogany red hue with a purplish plum velvet and cream hue silk interior. Surface marks and wear as you can see in the photos. These add to the history of this piece in my opinion and add a layer of visual interest. This box would originally have been used for a bespoke jewel, shown by the unusual recess to the velvet base. Box closes nice and tight. Dates to c.1920s.
