Dating to the first half of the 19th century, this exquisite piece fits neatly into the English late Georgian era. Gorgeously designed as a drop pendant set with green paste and seed pearls in 9ct gold. The paste are beautifully foil and button backed with pie crust settings. Paste jewellery captured the hearts of many in high society during the 1800s. It is flint glass, beautifully hand cut and sparkles in the light. They are in good condition with minor surface nibbles as would be expected for a piece of this age. The foil has started to change colour ever so slightly, this is, to me, part of her breathtaking history. The largest paste measures 13 mm x 10 mm. With an antique replacement bail. This pendant is likely to have started as an earring and part of a Demi-Parure set. A precious English antique jewel full of colour and charm. Please note the box and chain shown are for demonstration purposes.
