This gorgeous novelty jewel has been beautifully designed as a characterful cat. Subtly textured with a florentine surface, claw set with vibrant red paste eyes, swirling tail and applied whiskers. One eye looks to be winking with four claw eyelashes. An aesthetic piece that can be enjoyed from every angle. Novelty jewels like this were hugely popular during the 1960s and 1970s and many large jewellery houses including Cartier developed lines of animal themed jewellery. This piece is 14ct gold and likely to be have been made in Italy.
