An unusual Antique Victorian ring designed as a double snake and architectural shoulder ring. The snakes are beautifully detailed with dimpled texture skin and creamy white seed pearl eyes. Flanked by arches and split shoulders. Dating to c. 1880s, this ring highlights the Victorian interest in snake rings as a sign of eternal love, stemming from Queen Victoria’s engagement ring from Prince Albert in the 1830s. The ring face measures 13 mm wide by 18 mm shoulder to shoulder. Offered in very good condition for its age, with a few minor dings to the snakes’ bodies. Made in warm rose gold.
